How the Ch.E® Fee Structure Works
Earning the Chartered Economist (Ch.E®) designation involves four distinct fee components. Understanding each stage helps you plan your investment and timeline before you begin.
Stage 1 — Registration
₹47,200 · incl. material
You register directly with AAFM India, which activates your student account and grants access to the USA-ACER e-learning portal. Registration also starts your eligibility clock — examination scheduling through Pearson Vue is available after 30 days of registration.
Registration fee: ₹47,200 — inclusive of study material & full USA-ACER e-learning access (taxes as applicable).
Stage 2 — Programme Access
USA-ACER E-Learning System
Your programme fee covers access to the full USA-ACER e-learning system: 5 modules covering Economic Analysis, Applied Economics and Sectoral Economics; 2,000+ pages of reading material; hundreds of PPTs, mock tests and case studies. The course is 100% online and self-paced.
Programme access is included in the ₹47,200 registration — there is no separate charge for the USA-ACER system.
Stage 3 — Examination
Rs. 3,000 per attempt
The Ch.E® examination fee is Rs. 3,000 per attempt, paid to AAFM India before scheduling on the Pearson Vue platform. The computer-based exam is 115 minutes, covers 55 questions across 6 modules and is available at 5,000+ centres globally, with test windows on the 10th and 20th of every month.
Stage 4 — Certification
Post-exam credential issuance
On passing the examination and submitting your project work, you pay a certification fee to AAFM India before the designation is formally conferred. Your Ch.E® certificate is issued directly by the American Academy of Financial Management, USA and carries global recognition across 151+ countries.

Corporate Placement Access
AAFM provides linkage opportunities to corporate bodies that request specialist economists through AAFM's corporate tie-up network, supporting job placement for certified members.
Scholarship Eligibility
As part of the AAFM certification package, members receive scholarship eligibility to pursue a Masters (LLM in Taxation, Economics and Finance) or Doctorate at Thomas Jefferson School of Law, San Diego, California.
Examination Details
Examination Fee and Scheduling Policy
The Ch.E® examination is computer-based, delivered through Pearson Vue, and available at over 5,000 centres worldwide. Knowing the fee and scheduling rules before you enrol avoids surprises.
Fee at a Glance
The examination fee is Rs. 3,000 per attempt, submitted to AAFM India at the time of exam form submission. On approval, AAFM India notifies Pearson Vue, which auto-generates your web account and sends your login credentials along with an "Authorisation to Test" email.
Rescheduling an already-booked exam is permitted up to 48 hours before the test, on payment of Rs. 3,000 directly to Pearson Vue. Rescheduling within 48 hours is not permitted. Candidates who do not appear on their scheduled date forfeit the examination fee.
Scheduling Windows
Examination scheduling on the Pearson Vue platform is open from the 1st to the 10th of every month for tests taken on the 10th, and from the 10th to the 20th for tests taken on the 20th. Scheduling cannot be done during the delivery window itself (10th to 20th). Candidates must schedule at least 30 days after their initial registration with AAFM India.
Retake Policy
A candidate may book a retake 10 days after any attempt, regardless of pass or fail status. There is no limit on the number of retake attempts stated in the source; each retake requires the full Rs. 3,000 examination fee. Results are displayed on screen immediately on exam submission.

If you pay the examination fee to AAFM India but do not schedule through Pearson Vue within the registration eligibility period, the fee is forfeited and is not refunded or adjusted. On renewal of registration, the examination fee is payable again.
Yes. Rescheduling is permitted up to 48 hours before your scheduled exam on payment of Rs. 3,000 directly to Pearson Vue. Rescheduling within 48 hours of the exam is not permitted. Non-attendance without rescheduling results in forfeiture of the fee.
